Mommy had a night out with
friends on Friday night so Daddy had a night alone with Aubrey for the first
time for more than a couple of hours. He
said they had a great time playing and getting to know each other. Daddy doesn't get much time with Aubrey
during the week since he doesn't get home til 6:00 or 6:30 and Aubrey goes to
bed between 6:30 and 7:00. Weekends are
his time to catch up with Aubrey and see some of her new tricks. With mommy being gone for a little bit, Daddy
and Aubrey had some real quality time.
:)
We relaxed on Saturday and
met up with some friends at Tanners to watch the Husker game. I had my first encounter of a restaurant/bar
and grill not having a baby changing station in the bathroom. I thought all places had one! Needless to say, Aubrey and I had to venture
outside and do a diaper change in the car.
It wasn't the best situation, but we made do.
Sunday morning came
quickly and we ventured out to Yutan to spend the day with Grandma and Grandpa
Trost and the rest of the Trost clan. We
celebrated Thanksgiving and even managed to take advantage of the great weather
and had some family photos taken.
Aubrey is officially
crawling and talking! We will have to
baby proof the house soon because she is starting to get more curious about what
is around her. She will only crawl when
we are not looking. I'm sure she thinks
it is pointless for her to do the work when she can make a noise and we come to
her and pick her up. Who wouldn't rather
let someone else do the work for them?
We did catch her crawling to a toy and crawling towards us when we were
not looking.
Daddy is so proud....for
many reasons; however, this time he is especially proud of the fact that
Aubrey's first word is "dada".
She does not associate Daddy with "dada"; however, she loves
saying it. I am a bit jealous, but I'm
just happy that she has started saying a word and not just her shrieks and
screams. Oh yes, we still have many of
those but "dada" here and there mixes things up a bit. I wonder what her next word will be. I better start working with her on her
"m's"!
