11 Month Update

11 months!  Only one more month until our baby is officially one year old.  Happy 11 months, sweetheart!

Some new developments/loves this month:
  • Eating table food. Loves eating by herself. Feels like such a big girl!
  • Walking with a walker and rocking chair.  She might start walking on her own soon.
  • Hair.  Have to comment that Aubrey's hair is growing so much.  Everyone comments on it constantly.
  • Getting into cupboards, drawers, pantry, boxes, etc.  You name it and she will get into it.
  • Giving mommy and daddy loves and snuggles.  I thought we always had a snuggly baby, but it seems that this month she has become even more so.
  • Watching Mickey Mouse.  This is her absolute favorite cartoon.  She gets so excited with she hears the theme song and first sees Mickey Mouse.
  • Bouncing on the Couch. Has a great time bouncing on her bottom.

Busy Week

Boy, oh boy.  What an interesting and fun week!

Aubrey's first Valentine's Day was this week.  She made a super sweet card for us at daycare and even got a Valentine's card from a "classmate" of hers!  We let her play with it and she would not let go of it all day.  She was all giggles looking at it.  It was so cute!

Aubrey got sick after going to bed Thursday night, so we had clean that up and ended up letting her sleep in our bed that night.  I loved having our daughter so close to us, but I hardly slept!  Aubrey moves around A LOT at night and always had to have an arm or leg touching me.  It must have been some sort of security thing or something.  She seemed good on Friday morning, so she went to Grandma and Grandpa Trost's house that day and stayed the night so that Daddy and I could go to a fish fry that evening with some friends.  Aubrey did great during the day, but needless to say, she got sick that night.  Grandma and Grandpa were such good sports about it.  Daddy and I went to pick her up Saturday morning and she was doing fine again.  She didn't eat much food or formula that day, but she was in good spirits.  We had a great time at Iyla's birthday party.  I cannot believe our sweet little niece is 2 already!  Happy Birthday Iyla!

We had been trying to switch Aubrey to soy formula yet once again, but realized that is what probably made her sick.  We switched back to Alimentum and decided that we will keep her on that until she is ready to switch to milk.  Hopefully switching back does the trick!

The weather was absolutely amazing Sunday so we decided to take advantage and go for a family walk.  I think everyone enjoyed getting some fresh air.  It was a little chilly towards the end of the day, but it was so worth being outside!

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!  Daddy and I decided that we were going to start a tradition of having a heart-shaped pizza each Valentine's Day instead of going out to dinner.  Even though Aubs loves going out to dinner and people watching, we thought she might be more at ease being at home and celebrating there.  It was definitely stress-free!  Aubrey gave the below Valentine to Daddy and I think he really enjoyed it.  Hope your day was filled with love...I know ours sure was!  :)

Table Food

Daddy woke up early on Monday and took off for the lovely Las Vegas for 4 days so it was a week of just Aubrey and I.  We miss Daddy like crazy when he is gone, but I will say that I LOVE having the alone time with Aubrey for her and I to get some one on one time together. We make the most of it!

Aubrey is pretty much on a table food only diet now.  We still eat some of the homemade baby food once in awhile, but Aubrey loves being independent and eating things herself.  She is still loving all fruits, cheerios and puffs.  We will have to start her on an iron-fortified diet soon because we need to raise her iron levels.  Next week we will start eating beans, greens, tofu, red meat, etc.  We shall see what Aubrey enjoys!

I have been busy preparing for Aubrey's first birthday party, finding all sorts of fun things.  I spent the day making a paper mache "A" door hanging.  Daddy doesn't quite understand the importance of doing all of these little things, but I want to make Aubrey's big day the most special it can be.  Our baby only turns ONE once and we are going to make a big deal about it!

Speaking of first birthdays, we attended Lily's 1st birthday party on Sunday.  It was so much fun seeing Erica and the fam.  Erica's family is always so loving and welcoming.  We kept talking about what fun Lily and Aubrey will have growing up together.  If they are anything like their mothers, then we know they will have a good time together!  Hmmm...maybe daddy better start preparing for the teenager years now.  :)

Hectic Dinners and Basketball

With Aubrey eating table food now, dinners are a lot more hectic.  We don't get home til right before 5 and when we do get home, Aubrey is ready for dinner.  She does not want to wait for Daddy to get home (can't blame her), so Mommy has to "make" two dinners.  We are starting to get into a good routine, but it is still difficult sometimes of trying to think of quick table foods for her that don't have much milk products in them.  We are supposed to wait on introducing milk/dairy products to her for a little while since her tummy is still so sensitive.  Don't you worry though...Aubrey never goes hungry!  :)

Daddy came down with a bad cold on Thursday, so Aubrey and I have been trying to keep our distance so we don't get sick.  I have a feeling that it won't help though.  It seems that the three of us keep passing it back and forth.  I cannot wait for Spring to come so we can open the windows and get some fresh air in our house.  Daddy has a work trip to Las Vegas Monday-Thursday so he was planning on spending some QT with us girls this weekend.  Instead, he has been resting and trying to get over his cold.  We shall see what Monday morning brings!

Aubrey and I went to see cousin Caleb play basketball on Saturday.  We have a basketball star on our hands!  Caleb played so well and even made a couple baskets.  Aubrey really enjoyed watching all the action and of course cousins Colton and Kenzie had to hold her a few times each.  They love their baby cousin!  After the game, Uncle Dan, Aunt Kristi, me and the kiddos went and grabbed a bit to eat.  It was so nice being able to spend a little extra time with them.  We don't see them nearly enough!

Grandma and Grandpa Trost finally came back to good ol' Nebraska from their FL trip, so Aubrey and I made a trip out to Yutan on Sunday to see them.  They were nervous that Aubrey might have forgotten them, but she had lots of hugs and kisses for them!  She knew that it would be awhile before she had to go back to daycare 5 days in a row again.  :)

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Well, to start things off, Daddy had Monday off work, so he stayed home with Aubrey that day.  Papa Cave came down to spend the day with them as well and the 3 of them met me for lunch.  It stinks that I had to work when they had the day off, but someone's gotta do it (wink, wink)!  Aubrey was in good spirits that day and was feeling better.  She went to daycare on Tuesday and got sick twice, so I had to go pick her up a bit early.  I called Dr. Cohen and they said that there was a bug going around and that it shouldn't last more than a day or two.  She was feeling much better on Wednesday and was back to her "old" self again.  The rest of the workweek was spent with lots of cuddling!

Grandma and Grandpa Trost left for vacation on Saturday so Grandma had to work on Friday.  That meat that Aubrey went to daycare.  We were worried that she would go five days this week, but thanks to Daddy having Monday off for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, then she was only there for 4 days.

Saturday brought lots of fun for us.  Cousin Kenzie had her 2nd birthday party so we were able to see all of the Trost cousins.  They have so much fun playing together.  Happy 2nd birthday Kenzie!
